Clean Water for Haiti

Through my church, Christ & St. Luke's Episcopal in Norfolk, I have begun raising money to dig a well in Haiti, a beautiful but tragic place where more than half of its 10 million people don't have access to clean water. The group I belong to, Caring for Creation, is working with Haitioutreach.org, one of the most respected organizations working within that country. By the end of this year, we hope to raise $15,000 -- the cost of planning, drilling and maintaining a well on the Haiti mainland. So far, we're more than a third of the way there!

You can help by sending a check to Christ & St. Luke's and designating Haiti Clean Water. Please send to:

Many thanks.

The celebration in Yayou was fabulous! Hundreds of people turned out to sing, dance and cheer as the first flood of clear, cool water burst from the well. I've put together a video of the experience.
